Accommodation & Meals

The ACCORD residence offers comfortable accommodation while allowing easy and quick access to the most famous Parisian landmarks: the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, Notre-Dame, etc.

Bedrooms
Large and airy 4-bedded rooms with one wardrobe per Teen, and shared facilities. Shared showers and toilets in separate cubicles are located on each floor and all are clean and well maintained. Bed sheets are provided and changed once a week. Towels are provided.
Boys and girls are accommodated on separate floors with no access between floors.
We make every effort to ensure that rooms are shared with children of different nationalities and of similar age so that they continue speaking French outside of the classroom and make new friends. Parents may request for their child to share with a particular friend and this will be considered but cannot always be guaranteed.

At ACCORD there are no hidden fees: student laundry is organised once per week, usually on Wednesday or Thursday, and it is a free of charge service.

Security
At the ACCORD Saint Nicolas residence, Teens are supervised 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. At night time, the residence is locked and staff including security people are present at all times.
Students are not allowed to go off Campus unsupervised by our ACCORD staff, even when parents give their children a signed parental discharge/authorisation.

A medical assistant is also available at the residence 24 hours per day in case a Teen needs medical attention. In case, a Teen needs further medical assistance, a medical practitioner (Doctor) will come to the residence and if necessary, the Teen will be taken to the closest hospital.

Facilities at the residence
A self-service restaurant, a meeting room, classrooms, a sports hall, outdoors facilities, outdoor terraces and an internet area.

Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the residence self-service restaurant and are all included in the price of the stay.
An afternoon snack is also included in the price. During some excursions, lunch or dinner will be a packed lunch.
There are also vegetarian and pork-free meal options available.
Other special dietary requirements (diabetic, gluten-free, etc.) can also be catered for but parents need to inform the school at the time of enrolment.

French Courses

Levels of French
Courses open to all levels, from complete beginner to advanced.
On their first day, students take a placement test in written and spoken French, to be placed in the class of their level.

Course timetable
French lessons: 20 lessons/week (15 hours/week)
Classes take place in the morning, from 9:00 to 12:00
Maximum 15 students per multinational class (average 11)

Teaching method
“Play and Learn”: this is how Teens describe the ACCORD’s teaching methodology. ACCORD teaching focuses on oral communication using authentic documents such as songs, TV programs, movies and magazines.
ACCORD teachers have compiled a wide range of games and activities that make the learning of grammar, structure, vocabulary and pronunciation interesting and fun. The teachers, all University graduates, are fully qualified in the teaching of French as a foreign language. They are experienced in teaching young people French.
ACCORD School is a “Qualité FLE” accredited school

Certificate

On the last day of their stay, Teens will be given an end of course certificate, stating their level and the number of hours of French they have studied, and the progress made during their course.

Transfer

An ACCORD transfer service is available. On arrival, our staff will meet students at the airport or train station and take them to the ACCORD Saint Nicolas residence.
On departure, our transfer service escorts students to check-in.
If you book our transfer service for your child(ren) – pick up and/or drop off at the airport -, please read our instructions carefully to guarantee your child(ren)’s safe arrival and departure.

Visits, cultural activities and sports

At the ACCORD all-inclusive summer camp in France, Teens join one full day and 3 half-day excursions per week, always accompanied by our ACCORD staff members. These excursions are an opportunity to discover most of the important famous sites of Paris and its surrounding area: Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Ile de la Cité and Ile Saint-Louis, the Louvre museum, the Eiffel Tower, the Trocadéro and Champs de Mars area, Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur basilica, etc.

Full day at Disneyland (including lunch, return transfer by private coach)

Full day at Astérix leisure park (including lunch, return transfer by private coach)

Our Recommendation

When you choose an all-inclusive summer camp for Teens in France, always check if the programme is registered at the DDCS and if the staff taking care of the Teens have the official BAFA/BAFD degrees!

Insurance: Parents are advised to take out a Health Insurance and a Civil liability insurance for the duration of the stay of their child as ACCORD is not responsible for theft, damage or loss of student’s personal effects on and outside the Campus. Parents agree that ACCORD is not in any way liable in such circumstances.
The ACCORD insurance policy covers against accidents occurring inside the campus premises and during the activities, visits/ excursions. It cannot cover neither damages caused to goods belonging to the student, be it caused by the student him/herself or by a third person.
Important: Parents must send a copy of the insurance policy together with any document requested by the ACCORD Registration Department.
