Summer French courses for the Family in France: For 35 years the famous ACCORD French language school has been welcoming adults, teenagers and kids from 6 to 11 and 12 to 17 years old at its Parisian summer school located southern Paris and offers Summer French Language Lessons for the Family.
The ACCORD summer school, conveniently located in a very safe area southern Paris, while allowing easy and quick access to the most famous Parisian landmarks: the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, Notre-Dame, etc.

Summer French courses for the Family in France

Courses for the parents and courses for the Teens and Children are all at the ACCORD summer school, but parents and children are in separate classes. They are not, and can’t be placed together in the same class. We mix classes so there are children of a similar age and different nationalities.

Meals

At the ACCORD Summer School there is a self-service restaurant where you can choose to have lunch and/or dinner, when you want, during your stay at ACCORD, and at a low fee.
To be able to have lunch and/or dinner at the restaurant you will need to buy your tickets 24 hours in advance from the restaurant staff. Ask the ACCORD staff at the Reception of the summer school for more information.
There are also vegetarian and pork-free meal options available.

French courses for parents

Semi-intensive French language course for parents
French lessons: 20 lessons/week (15 hours/week)
Classes take place in the morning, from 9:00 to 12:00
Maximum 14 students per multinational class (average 10)
Courses open to all levels, from complete beginner to advanced.
On their first Monday morning, parents take a placement test in written and spoken French, to be placed in the class of their level.

Intensive Summer French language course for parents
French lessons: 26 lessons/week (20 hours/week)
Classes take place in the morning, from 9:00 to 13:00
Maximum 15 students per multinational class (average 11)
Courses open to all levels, from complete beginner to advanced.
On their first Monday morning, parents take a placement test in written and spoken French, to be placed in the class of their level.

French courses for Teens and Kids

Semi-intensive Summer French language course for Teens and Kids
French lessons: 20 lessons/week (15 hours/week)
Classes take place in the morning, from 9:00 to 12:00
Maximum 15 students per multinational class (average 11)
Courses open to all levels, from complete beginner to advanced.
On their first Monday morning, Children take a placement test in written and spoken French, to be placed in the class of their level.

Additional lessons such as the Writing/Grammar lessons or the One-to-one lessons can be taken with the semi-intensive course, not with the Intensive summer course.

Intensive Summer French language course for Teens and Kids
French lessons: 26 lessons/week (20 hours/week)

Additional Summer French language courses for Teens and Kids

Writing/Grammar lessons in mini-group for Teens and Kids
For the Children enrolled in the semi-intensive course who need to improve their written French and French grammar, we recommend our Writing/Grammar lessons in mini-groups, 5 hours per week, one hour per day, from 12:00 to 13:00.

One-to-one lessons for Teens and Kids
For the Children who prefer to improve their French on individual basis, we offer one-to-one lessons, 5 hours per week, one hour per day, from 12:00 to 13:00.

ACCORD Teaching method

Courses for the Children and Teens: “Play and Learn”: this is how Children and Teens describe the ACCORD’s teaching methodology. ACCORD teaching focuses on oral communication using authentic documents such as songs, TV programs, movies and magazines.
ACCORD teachers have compiled a wide range of games and activities that make the learning of grammar, structure, vocabulary and pronunciation interesting and fun.
The teachers, all University graduates, are fully qualified in the teaching of French as a foreign language. They are experienced in teaching French to children as well as to adults.

Courses for the parents: The emphasis will be on improving confidence in speaking and listening in French in a range of everyday situations. Subjects covered in class include: topical vocabulary and language, study of grammatical structures, pronunciation and listening skills, social skills, cultural awareness, reading and writing skills, conversational French.

End of course certificate

On the last day of their stay, parents and children will be given an “End of course certificate”, stating their level and the number of hours of French they have studied, and the progress made during their course.

Visits, cultural activities and sports

The Day Student programme is available to Teens from the age of 12 to 17. Children from the age of 6 to 11 can also join this programme, but they must be accompanied by a parent. This important information is available on the Day-student programme page.
